What $ Does to Rappers....
I think its funny how once the hood-est rappers get a lil money under them, they go just as commercial as they daytime telivision. Plies was deep in the ghetto in his first few videos... but after he got that first Industry paycheck, he got songs wit Ne-Yo, in an all white mansion & a chaufferur. Tell me what "hood" they do THAT at! Gucci Mane was bumpin in every nigga ride a month ago. Now that nigga got a song wit Mariah! And what happened to T.I. speaks for itself... from "I Can't Be Yo man" to "You Can Have Whatever You Like" Guess that's what "making it" does to ya.

umm if u were a rappaer in today's industry, u'd go mainstream too. the niggas aint gettin no REAL money anymore. and black ppl wont half buy the cd's anyway...white ppl cant feel that gangster shit. and fmls will only buy ya album to see the pics inside the cover lol
ReplyDelete^^^^ I agree in order to be more profitable you have to be more versatile, and open up to a wider range of people. Showing love to the hood is good and all, but in order to be truly successful you have to get in touch w/ where the money is. Not to come off as racist but Niccas aren't gonna buy shit. They'd copy your shit off of limewire for free, before supporting an artist. White people actually go out and buy the albums which I think is silly especially when artists usually have only about 3 good songs on one album (lol consider me one of those niccas who'd cop that shit for free). Anywho, the white people are where the $$ is point blank period!

Money changes people, i must say that everyone of those artist still make hood music it just make the artist more money to go commercial. "EVERYBODY GOT A MORGAGE TO PAY FOR" so why use the quickest route to do so.
